Client Information

how can we get in touch with you?

the best way to get in touch with me is via email. My email address is jennifer@jenniferstellyphotography.com. Please allow 24 hours for email responses.

what type of photography do you shoot?

I’m primarily a child and family photographer. But will work with you on any type of session you would like. I am accepting Wedding commissions for 2020 and 2021, please inquire to see if I am a fit for you.

what kind of photographer are you?

I want our sessions to flow naturally by using light and our surroundings. For my families I gently guide them in poses but allow the interactions to flow freely. I enjoy seeing children in a natural and fun environment where they can explore, run, play, ask questions, etc.

My engagement sessions and weddings are entirely different in regards to posing. While family sessions are more “free style” during your engagement session and on your wedding day I will guide you through the entire process.

where will we shoot?

With the exception of newborn sessions, all appointments take place on location. I have locations I can suggest for you or I am happy to come to your home or a location of your choice. I LOVE when a location means something to my clients.

what time of day do you shoot?

On location sessions are scheduled about 1.5-2 hours before sunset. This can be as early as 3pm for a start time in the winter months and as late as 6pm for a start time in the summer. If we are shooting in your home, times are more flexible and are discussed during the booking process.

how long is the session?

On location, child and family sessions usually last between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the season, the amount of children in the family, the location, total wardrobe changes and various other factors. Newborn sessions will take at least 2 hours and often up to 4 hours, for mother to soothe, feed and comfort baby.

do you help us plan for our family session?

Yes! Prior to your session we will spend time discussing what you would like for our session. We can plan clothing choices together and select a location that you feel is best for your family. Upon booking, I will request that you complete a Questionnaire, which really helps me get to know your family a little bit more before our time together. I created a blog post on how to prepare for your Family Session that has tons of info, click HERE to be directed to that post.

when should we schedule our newborn session?

As soon as you know you want to book, please call/email me to secure your appointment. Newborn sessions are scheduled on your due date, but allow for flexibility in timing based on when baby arrives. The best time to photograph your newborn is between 3-7 days of life. These are the days that baby is the most sleepy and we are able to gently position him/her without long periods of wakefulness. I do, however, schedule newborn sessions at whatever time is the most convenient for you. I offer Maternity + Newborn Packages, please inquire for details. what are your thoughts on digital negatives?

I believe its so important to have your session images archived and preserved digitally. We all want to share our photos with friends & family via email and social networking sites. Photographs most definitely gain value over time and its becoming so simple and affordable to preserve. I walk all my clients through the best ways to archive, print and share your precious photos. Purchasing digital negatives allows you to print unlimited copies and enlarge (with our partner lab) at your discretion.
